The long-awaited match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr., world-famous middle-weight fighters now in their late 30s, is finally going to happen on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Mayweather announced the upcoming fight on social media. Yahoo! Sports predicts that he is expected to be paid around $120 million while Pacquiao will take home a measly $80 million, approximately. The fight as a whole could result in profits upwards of $400 million for all the parties involved, forecasts ESPN. The fight will be televised jointly by HBO and Showtime – a point of contention which held up the match for a significant amount of time.
