M4 Rifle
The most commonly used weapon in the US special forces these days is the M4 rifle, basically a shortened version of the M16. It can be used with special additions like an infrared laser, fore-grip, tactical lights and a telescopic sight add-on.
M249
The M249, or SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon), is an extremely powerful weapon which instantly multiplies force in a fire fight but is also known for malfunctions and maintenance difficulty.
M240B
The M240B, a mainstay of the American arsenal and known as a reliable, all-purpose machine gun, is most commonly mounted on a “ground mobility vehicle” – “Humvees” (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) designed for off-road travel – and maneuvered by riflemen until a convoy reaches its objective.
M2 Browning
Known intimately by soldiers and aficionados alike, this weapon is nicknamed “The Ma Deuce.” It has been used by generations of soldiers, from the Korean War right through to the war in Afghanistan.
Mossberg 500
This weapon is used mainly for ballistic breaches, storming a hostile space, specifically, to blast through doors.
M110 Sniper System
This newer, semi-automatic rifle was designed for urban engagements. Since it suffers from several faults, it seems that soldiers prefer to use the trusted M24.
M67 Grenade
Every special forces soldier is usually armed with two M67 grenades, which feature extra safety features.
Flash Bang Grenade
There have been several version of the flash bang grenade, some having been recalled to inherent flaws, which ended up harming the soldiers who carried them.
Thermobaric Grenade
Heat (thermo) + pressure (baric) combine for a devastating result that is used to obliterate bunkers, spider holes and more. Once this weapon is launched into a compound, the rapid rise in heat and pressure is what causes the structure to collapse from within.
Milkor Mk14 Grenade Launcher
This weapon is designed to behave like a super-sized revolver from which 40 millimeter grenades are launched.
