It’s not just college kids who love to smoke the ganja. There are a few extremely famous billionaires who also love cannabis. Here’s a list that might shock you:
1. Michael Bloomberg
The billionaire media mogul and former mayor of New York has been quoted as saying, “You bet I did. And I enjoyed it,” when asked if he smoked pot in his youth.
2. Bill Gates
The world’s wealthiest man ($79.4 billion net worth) and creator of Microsoft is a fan of pot. Gates voted to legalize marijuana in his home state of Washington.
3. David Koch
David Koch is an American businessman who jointly runs the country’s second largest company, Koch Industries. He is also a supporter of the Libertarian party, which is ultra-conservative. Rather unusually, he also supports decriminalizing marijuana. “I have friends who smoke pot… It’s ridiculous to treat them as criminals,” said Koch.
4. Steve Jobs
The deceased visionary behind Apple computers and smartphones apparently got a lot of inspiration from pot smoking. He admitted to smoking cannabis for recreational purposes when he was young, as well as consuming pot brownies.
5. Sir Richard Branson
The British mogul behind the Virgin Group (Virgin Atlantic Airlines, Virgin Galactic, Virgin Records, etc.) is one of the world’s richest men, as well as an advocate of marijuana legalization.
6. Ted Turner
Media mogul Ted Turner, the owner of Turner Broadcasting and CNN, is a rumored pot user. What’s for sure is that he’s donated a lot of money to support cannabis: his philanthropic organization the Turner Foundation is a sponsor of the Kentucky Hemp Museum.
